The partly desolate village of Las Menas sits high in the Sierra de Los Filabres and takes a fair amount of effort to get there. It is an outstanding area of peace and tranquility spoiled only by the chirping of birds and crickets… and doubtless other creatures too at times! Las Menas is nestled between a number of derelict mining villages and all collectively have an eerie sense of calm. The birdlife is fantastic here and I’m sure the wildlife is too, though I didn’t witness this personally.
This was only a quick afternoon visit and a bit of a reconnaissance / research mission really – I will definitely be going back so watch this space for further photographic adventures.
